DEC 4th: Well we arrived in Florida, only took 7 days and 3,000 kilometres. Must be a record of sorts, lol DEC 5th: Celebrating our 10th anniversary! Wow it has been 10 years since we been to Florida. Carol (Nadine and Nicks Grandma, my motherinlaw) arrived today and we just hung out around town. DEC 6th: Well we are headed to Universal studios today, will be our first day of major touristing in Florida! DEC 7th: I am up and it is now 5:00 AM. Having coffee, imported Tim Horton’s of course! I will begin waking troops at around 7:00 AM. We will be heading to Disney by 8:00 AM. This will be a marathon day, the climax of this trip! Well I may not update this site till tomorrow :). Disney: Wow this place is awesome! My take is you need to figure out how much you want to spend here. We bought a 1 day pass and upgraded to a park hopper for 15 dollars a ticket, this was a good deal. The park hopper not only gets you in to 4 parks, Magic Kingdom, Animal World, Epcot and or MGM studios, but it also allows you to use a service called “Fast Pass”. What fast pass allows you to do is get a pass for a ride and then come back within the next hour or 2 and go to the front of the line. Big time saver, only catch is you can only use fast pass once every 2 hours. Still an excellent deal! Because we went in the slow season the park was open at 9:00, I think in peak seasons it opens at 10:00 for the general public, resort guests at Disney can go at 9:00 during peak seasons. It was hard to try and do 3 parks in a day, so 4 is virtually impossible unless you do not do anything, lol. We took all our own food and drink and went back to the van to eat. The savings by doing this is probably around 200 US dollars or more. The food prices are huge in the park! But you save twice this way cause you do not get involved in the huge line ups, and if you time it right you can go for lunch when you change parks, you actually leave Disney to change parks and you are very close to your car if you park say, in Magic Kingdom and visit it first. We carried snacks and water bottles. I would say this is a must trip for parents of small children, if possible. My feeling the oldest should be not much over 10 and the youngest should be at least 6, or there about. If they are over 13 you missed Disney with them as they probably do not even want to be around you at this age, let alone hold your hand! If Magic Kingdom is not on your agenda then age is irrelevant. I seen people with baby’s, carrying them, screaming and crying, what a waste of money! Imagine showing your child pictures of them when they were baby’s saying, and this is you at Disney, lol. The point here is that at somewhere between 3,500 and 7,000 US Funds for a trip here to Disney, one trip is all most people will be doing, myself included! You can do the trip for less then 3,500 US funds but it takes a lot of work on the parents side, which we were prepared to do! Imagine being able to pay yourself almost 1,500 US funds while on vacation! Well if you use your head you can! DEC 8th: Well we are recuperating from the marathon yesterday! We have decided to leave tomorrow, 1 day earlier then we planned. It is supposed to rain Mon. and Tues. so we feel we will leave on an upbeat note. We took our Universal tickets and sold them for 50 dollars, nobody is prepared to walk that much again today, lol. Nick and Nadine have had a great time, as we have also. Well we are off to Tucker again, tomorrow. Will be there for the night. |
